Die ÖROK ist ein permanentes Organ von Bund, Ländern und Gemeinden. Sie dient der Kooperation
der genannten Gebietskörperschaften in Fragen der Raumordnung und Raumplanung sowie der
Regionalpolitik.
Hauptaufgaben der ÖROK sind die Erarbeitung, Weiterführung und Konkretisierung des
Österreichischen Raumordnungs-/Raumentwicklungskonzeptes, die Koordinierung raumrelevanter Planungen
und Maßnahmen zwischen den Gebietskörperschaften sowie Beiträge zur Raumforschung insbesondere durch
Analysen und Prognosen zu leisten.

Das ÖIR ist ein Forschungs- und Beratungsinstitut, dessen Aufgabe es ist, räumliche
Entwicklungsprozesse zu untersuchen, Vorschläge zur Nutzung des Lebensraums auszuarbeiten und die
Ergebnisse der Öffentlichkeit zugänglich zu machen. Die Auftraggeber des Instituts kommen aus dem
privaten Sektor und dem öffentlichen Sektor aller Ebenen (Gemeinden, Länder, Bund, Europa).

Das Bundesamt für Bauwesen und Raumordnung BBR ist eine Bundesoberbehörde im Geschäftsbereich
des Bundesministeriums für Verkehr, Bau und Stadtentwicklung. Das BBR betreut zum einen die
Bundesbauten im In- und Ausland und unterstützt zum anderen die Bundesregierung durch

Das Deutsche Institut für Urbanistik (Difu) bezweckt, Kommunalverwaltungen durch
wissenschaftlich fundierte Forschung und Fortbildung die Lösung ihrer kommunalen Aufgaben zu
erleichtern und darüber hinaus längerfristige Perspektiven und Handlungsmöglichkeiten für die
städtische Entwicklung aufzuzeigen.
Forschungsberichte, Studien, Fortbildungsseminare sowie Informations- und Dokumentationsdienste
dienen der anwendungsorientierten Vermittlung wissenschaftlicher Erkenntnisse, dem
Erfahrungsaustausch zwischen den Kommunen und der Unterstützung bei der Umsetzung von Planungszielen
in kommunales Verwaltungshandeln.
